Ustwo is a worldwide digital product studio where I had the chance to enjoy my graduate internship, from April to August 2018. Being “hybrid” designer was an opportunity to juggle between the roles of a UX and a UI designer, depending on the needs of each project. As a UX designer I had to understand very specific contexts of use, to define user needs, to learn about current uses, to create an intuitive user path through the products and services. I took the initiative to do a lot of user interviews, and user tests. As a UI designer I worked on the visualisation of data, the information’s hierarchy, the representation of controls and actions, as well as the creation of bold graphical universes.
Wiztivi, worldwide specialist in interactive user interfaces dedicated to set top boxes, TVs and other connected devices. I have been called back, 3 years after my internship in this enterprise, for some missions to reinforce the studio team. Interaction and web design on different devices (mobile, tablet, desktop, TV). Animations of mock-ups, creation of demonstration videos for Wiztivi’ showcases.
Le Nid à Tendances, translated as « trends’ nest», is a shop selling accessories, jewellery and home decoration. The founder asked me to redesign an old logo, highlighting contemporary values. I worked on this project from Hamburg (when I was doing my internship) and demonstrated it when I came back to Nantes. We completed this project successfully, until the announcement of a new visual identity.
Computer Rock, European company, specialised in services and softwares. My 5-month internship was about web & interaction design as well as connected object conception. This experience was also a personal challenge: living abroad in a different city (Hamburg), discovering a new culture, and a new working environment, evolving in the professional world speaking another language.
Wiztivi, worldwide specialist in interactive user interfaces dedicated to set top boxes, TVs and other connected devices. 4-month internship, from July to October, as interaction designer working on apps including web contents, replay & VOD portals, for clients from around the globe. Clients ranked in the major TV channels worldwide (such as MTV, 6play, TF1, Eurosport) and operators (Orange, SFR, Telecentro, Monaco Telecom). Preparation of a booth for the IBC (International Broadcasting Convention) which occurred in Amsterdam, in September.
Coquerico is a French shop selling accessories. I worked as graphic and web designer: I created the current logo, business cards, flyers and posters. Recently created an ad insert for a local magazine.
Attended several exhibitions to represent the school, in Paris and Nantes, and took part in some career fairs to explain the different domains of the design to younger students.
Audiovisual school organisation. We created short movies for school events, such as seminars, parties, trips. We also made short movies to present our school to external people and future students. Our goal was to communicate on social networks, and fairs.
Eluères et Associés, communication agency. Editing a B2B video, for a process of trading prospection, showcasing the members of the COMVORT global Network of Advertising agencies. This edit is now part of the presentation tools of many members of the network worldwide.
One month internship, at the same time as studies in Mount Anville Secondary School, during a college exchange program. Manually printing pictures in a darkroom, setting up exhibitions, organising events (receptions, previews).
The Web2day is a startups and tech festival organised every year, in June. It is all about talks, tech demonstration, networking, and workshops. In summer 2019, we received 225 speakers and 10,000 attendees. On the volunteering side, we are usually between 150 and 200 super motivated humans. On the last edition (2019), I have been appointed to the superheroes team, as their leader. The superheroes team is a small team of 10 persons, who are can do/fix everything on the festival. Other teams of volunteers have fixed tasks, when we are flying around, providing help to any visitor/partner/speaker/team who needs some. We are seen as the problem solvers of the festival.
While having this position, I trained younger persons to compose a mindful, flexible and reactive team. We explored techniques and methodologies to be able to cover all the tasks required with our given skills. We had to face a storm, and to come up with solutions when half of the festival got canceled. It was not an easy job, but we succeeded: we reacted really fast, planned solutions during night, to make our visitors, speakers and partners happy the next day. In the end, we learned a lot, grew together, and we were happy of this rewarding experience.
In the previous editions of the Web2day, my mission was to drive the numerous speakers from their arrival place (train station or airport) to the festival or their hotel, and back. It allowed me to be in direct contact with many workers from our digital age, and to have meaningful conversations during our rides. It was a way to create my personal network, filled with persons and brands coming from all over the world.
Vinted is a service allowing its 12 millions members selling their own clothes online. Its goal is “to make secondhand the 1st choice worldwide”. I had to represent Vinted for Nantes community, and organise events such as clothing sales and talks around common interests. My goal was to make the concept lively apart from the interfaces, and create a lively community. I had to manage every aspect of the event organisation, from the location, the space arrangement and decoration, to the well-being of the exhibitors and the intuitive path of the visitors. Through this status, I improved some special skills: I gained in communication (print, and on social networks) and management, created a dedicated network composed of professionals, artists, creators, and customers.
Tutor of six foreign students, from Canada, Estonia, Ireland, Italy, USA, and Spain. Just after their arrival, I helped them with administrative procedures, and guided them through the city. My goal was to help them being at ease in their new environment, as well as our culture.
I am really interested in photography and travel, this is why I am linking these two domains on my Instagram account : @capucine.grbh It is my way to share my experience abroad.
Organising events and short-lived experiences are also some of my hobbies. Making myself useful in these particular contexts offers me planning and management skills, as well as opportunities to meet experts from diverse domains, or humans from different parts of the world.
I am always happy to meet new faces so feel free to drop me a line or to connect through social media 🙂
